Giveaway Day!

My favorite day of the year! I have all but abandoned my blog, but I feel compelled to join giveaway day anyway. It is so much fun! Here is what I have to give away today. Lucky you!

A baker's dozen DMC Pearl cotton floss size 8. Retails for about $2.50 a spool (95 yards) but I just happened to find it in the salvage store yesterday for 25 cents per spool. So I got you one of each color I got myself. (Honestly, I got some of every color they had. I'm no fool!)

Grammie and Grampie Blue with their grandson Dusty.
The inter-racial Browne family.
Mr. and Mrs. Scarlett with their twins Rosie and Rusty.
The Greene's (Mrs. is expecting soon, but not soon enough).
And last but not least, the enigmatic Professor Naranja.

To enter my giveaway, please note: I will not award my prize to anyone who doesn't leave an individualized response. If I read the same comment by you that I see on every other blog, if you are the winner, I will choose another. Got it? Now. For the rest of you: I would like to know what odd yet delicious things you eat on your pizza? We eat a lot of pizza around here, and I'm actually getting a little tired of buffalo chicken and blue cheese, potato and pesto, artichoke hearts with carmelized onions. So - some suggestions. If you don't like pizza, you can tell me why. I can't even begin to imagine. But I have a little girl who does not like pizza. And yes, we force her to eat it. Mean, mean parents. I will choose my winner on December 16th and mail by the 21st. And yes, I will ship internationally. Now stop reading and go check out all those amazing giveaways. Good luck! Hope you win something!

Please, people, if you are not sure your e-mail account is tied to your profile, either write your e-mail address in your comments, or check out this tutorial I just pulled up off the web and fix it. If no one has your address, you can't win! It's not just me - you might be winning lots of prizes and you will never, ever know about it. About 1/4 of the replies I have gotten are No-Reply, which means if they are picked, I will have to choose another winner. Now go fix it, so you win!

  1. I'm not sure how odd it is, but since I can't have cow's milk (baby allergic to cow milk proteins) I've been eating goat's milk mozzarella on my pizza when I (rarely) have it. It's a little strange, but better than no pizza at all.

  2. LOL...Here's my individualized response..we get 2 Safeway's fresh pizza and all five of us top our parts differently. I love onion, mushroom, pineapple. YUM! I've just started some hand quilting, so those threads would be nice. What a find!!!

  3. I'm afraid I'm an old-fashioned Pizza Person. Give me all veggie (no olives), or Pepperoni, or Canadian Bacon/Pineapple, or... almost anything as long as there is no FISH!

  4. individualized response, i like it!
im defnitely an onion pizza kinda girl, bf hates it, i love it!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm a pizza purist and like to keep things simple. Only one topping at a time and of my favorite options: onion, sausage or pepperoni. Not very odd, but maybe it's odd to be so constrained? Here's hoping I win- great buy you got there!

  6. I do love pizza, right now my fav is bbq chicken with pineapple and bacon. Delish! Thanks for the chance to win. Jodi B.

  7. When my kids were young we used to have tinned sardines on our homemade pizza juat like my mother used to make. We don't eat much pizza these days.
Love those thread colours especially the browns and oranges.

  8. Thanks so much for your giveaway! I think your hilarious pizza question precludes generic responses:) I don't know if it's an odd ingredient, but I do love roasted garlic on mine. I just make sure that I order it on my pizza on the nights when I don't have work the next day!

  9. I love my pizza extra cheesy, but no blue cheeses please. I detest fruit on pizza I can not understand how people like a slice of pineapple on top yuck! As long as there's lots and lots of cheese any veggie will do, no meat I'm a vegetarian.

  10. I could eat pizza everyday. We have a local restaurant
Pizzeria Ortica that makes my favorite pizza.
    Salame piccante e funghi
Margherita with spicy salame, mixed mushrooms $17

  11. This isn't very odd, but I love sauteed garlic and mushrooms with asparagus spears and prosciutto on my pizza. I also like a shmear of alfredo sauce with sausage, spinach and a few red pepper flakes. Thanks for the chance to win!

  12. Caramelized beets and walnuts! It sounds strange but is SOOO good.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Pizza is God's food! I love it!! Lately our favorites are pepperoni with white sauce and extra cheese, Chicken, bacon, ranch with white sauce, provalone and mozzarella cheese. I honestly could eat pizza everyday tho and pretty much any type....tho I'm not into anchovies :-)

    Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm pretty boring when it comes to my pizza... pineapple, ham, some of Trader Joe's quattro formaggio cheese... yum!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm not very weird or original where my pizza is concerned. I like cheese, and lots of it. Several different types of cheese mixed together are fabulous.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I am a huge fan of pineapples on pizza. I don't like meat on my pizza (not that my husband EVER remembers that, even though we've been married for 9 years).

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm loving lots of Mozarella on my pizza and a local pizza restaurant does a fab dish where they have tons of rocket leaves on top too!!Mmmm!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. When I was somewhat-vegetarian. I loved Spinach and Cheese pizza. Actually I still like spinach and cheese pizza. Don't know if that is strange, but I've only known two other people eat it. Thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love pizza!
It's not really odd, but my preference right now is pepperoni, black and green olives, with breakfast bacon.
I also like breakfast bacon (as opposed to Canadian bacon), artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  21. reading all these comments has given ME ideas for pizza! Recently we had a pizza with handmade salame and fresh arugula on the side to place on top when you're ready to bite. It was really good! Thanks for the cool giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Love ham with pineapple for something different.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Gosh your pizza sounds delicious. hmmm ours are so boring really. Mostly just tomato sauce and cheese!! However I do love chicken, cream cheese and cranberry sauce... yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Beautiful colors! So my favorite go-to pizza toppings are tomato and artichoke hearts, BUT my favorite unusual pick is tuna! Sounds crazy, but I picked up a taste for this in Spain and it's actually kind of awesome (probably due to copious amounts of olive oil on the tuna!)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love goat cheese on my pizza. Add some tomatoes, basil and onions and it's yummy!
    scarletteandcinnamon(at)gmail(dot)com

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm severely allergic to dairy, so all my pizza is totally cheeseless. I put mushrooms, onions, and sausage on my pizza, but since that's not overly original, I'll add that I always either make my own pizza crust or I make little pizzas out of English muffins.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The craziest thing I eat on pizza is sausage - ha ha! I have the palate of a nine-year-old (but that keeps my son very happy!). Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't eat pizza (should I run away now?) but like the idea of toppings like: ham & pineapple or anything bacon.

    ReplyDelete
  29. roasted garlic, spinach, and proscuitto

  34. the best/strangest thing I've eaten on pizza recently is hot honey-- yep, spicy honey! Makes a really delish sweet/salty/spicy combo!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I also don't think my topping is especially strange but I guess it is a little unusual

Pear and prosciutto (with come mozzarella and brown sugar for caramelizing)

    ReplyDelete
  36. nutella pizza (as seen in Italy !!!)
    thank you !!

    ReplyDelete

My hubby is japanese we eat
calamari fried in panko on our pizza.
It is his favorite. I love tomato
    and fresh basil with it.
    mmm yum.
Thank you for your sweet little
    giveaway!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. When I was younger, my answer would have been, without any hesitation at all, Canadian bacon and olives. Now I prefer pizza with a ranch/garlic white sauce and artichoke hearts. And olives.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I LOVE pizza. I was lucky enough to holiday in Italy in the summer and couldn't get enough of their thin crust stonebaked pizzas :) I love ham and pineapple, pepperoni and jalepenos and lately asparagus and a whole egg in the middle. Thanks for the fab giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love pizza and we make it from scratch here. (Gotta love having a bread machine to help).

Our favorite toppings include pepperoni, bacon, tomatoes, feta and basil. Though not always all on the same pizza. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm a big fan of dairy free cheese - daiya - and pineapples and chicken. I find ham keeps the heat to well and i hate burning my mouth on it and then being able to taste the rest of the pizza

    ReplyDelete
  43. My daughter doesn't like pizza either. She also doesn't like any kind of meat.

As for us, we are plain and eat pepperoni and cheese only. Yep. simple and plain and yummy :)

  44. I love pizza but I don't think I eat anything odd on it. I love black kalamata olives on my pizza. I did make a pizza once that had sundried tomatoes on it but I don't think that is odd either. Maybe I am odd that I don't like so many different things on my pizza. lol

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't really enjoy odd things on my pizza, but I do love a white pizza with spinach.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm a hawaiian girl. Pineapple and Canadian bacon--which I thought was so weird until my husband convinced me to try it. Salty and sweet!

    ReplyDelete
  47. What about mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, bacon and black olives? I love it!. I hope you do too. Thank you for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm boring and generally happy with pepperoni...pesto is pretty good too. Still, not very exciting I guess. Thanks for the chance to win.

  51. i can't think of any odd toppings that i've had on a pizza. unless you can consider shrimp an odd topping. cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ok, firstly NEVER cheese, unless its red pepper and goats cheese. Ruins pizza. Second, lots of olives, capers and anchovies. Oh and I once had a chicken tikka masala pizza which was actually much better than it sounds!
    stashavalanche[at]gmail[dot]com

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love love love goat cheese and pesto. I tend to make my own crust using the "artisan bread in 5 mins a day" technique and then throw thins on it. Pesto, tomato, soft goat cheese....my heart, it melts (just like the cheese)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Normally I am just a pepperoni pizza find of gal but while in Coasta Rico I had the most amazing pizza ever that had salami and goat cheese. Doesn't sound that great but it was the most amazing pizza I have ever had!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. pepperoni and portobellos. nothing crazy, just crazy good.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love pizza, but we always do the same toppings - sausage and mushroom. Boring, I know! But it's yummy anyway!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I don't know that I have tried any really crazy toppings, like pineapple on my pizza, especially bbq chicken with Pineapple. I also like taco pizza but that is about as strange as it gets

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm a bit boring, I just love pineapple and mushrooms. TO me that's the yummiest combo. I do sometimes make wheat-free pizzas though and the crust is the odd thing then as I use sweet potato in the dough!
Hm, you've made me hungry now, I am seriously considering ordering in pizza (is that even allowed at 4:30 in the afternoon?).

    ReplyDelete
  59. I love a good pizza! I make my own dough and a garlic tomato sauce and keep it simple with a topping of cheese sprinkled with torn basil leaves once it is out of the oven. Reminds me of the pizzas we ate in Italy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't think it's very odd, but I like pizza with a peanut sauce, chicken, red peppers, bean sprouts and carrots.

    ReplyDelete
  61. What a great giveaway! I love to use perle cotton!

My favorite pizzas are veggie and the best one I've ever had was at Chicago Pizza in San Jose CA. It was a variety of mushrooms with dried apricots and it was YUMMY!

  62. Pizza Pizza, love it! My favorite toppings are pepperoni, black olives, jalapenos, and bacon. When I'm in a daring mood, I'll through in some spinach and asparagus, very yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I love eating weird things on pizza!!! Some of my favourites are cashew nuts, french fries and grapes!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Wow, your pizza toppings sound so exotic, I always have a seafood one and a super supreme. I do prefer the wood oven variety. We do have an aussie pizza which involves a cracked egg, personally, never tried it before though.

    ReplyDelete
  65. My husband's uncle makes brick oven pizza, and he does a fantastic one with walnuts and gorgonzola that has just garlic and olive oil instead of sauce. It would be good with pears on it too, I think.

Score one the thread deal--I can NEVER find size 8!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I guess the weirdest pizza thing that we have done is using nan bread, butter chicken, peppers and some mozzarella. You can make it on the bbq as the nan bread is already cooked. :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. My favorite pizza is: ground beef, artichoke hearts, ricotta cheese and muchroom. Welp, I guess I know what I'm having for dinner tonight. :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Pepperoni and pineapple. We don't have too much pizza, though.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I just had the best pizza last month with butternut squash, onions, cheese and cranberries. It was incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Thanks for the giveaway!

Our local pizza chain does seasonal offerings and we often get that. The latest was pear, walnuts, caramelized onions and gorgonzola cheese: awesome! My 4-yr-old loves pineapple and Canadian bacon. My personal favorite is mushrooms and spicy Italian sausage.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well, I like black olives and tiny shrimp. There used to be a pizza place called Shakeys, and the had this pizza....now I must make myself. Yum!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I know it's considered sort of "normal" now, but I LOVE pineapple pizza. I still get weird looks sometimes when I order it with friends, but almost invariably, they love it as soon as they try it. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Okay, so there is this amazing pizza I get from this place called Pitfire. It's called Green Eggs and Ham and it's got Braised Rapini, a Farm Egg, Prosciutto and Parmesan. So delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Well, I don't think these things are odd, but Hawaiian pizza has chunks of ham and pineapple...we like that. You could also make a breakfast pizza...you put cooked scrambled eggs...and any breakfast meat...instead of the red sauce, use melted butter and crushed garlic or powder. Cook the same as regular pizza, just eat in the morning or you can do it at night too. =)

Thanks for a chance to win your lovely prize. =)

    ReplyDelete
  75. I subscribed to your blog LAST giveaway blog, and it sure has been pretty quiet over here!

We make pizza every friday, I make my own dough, but with a picky little eater, we don't get that exciting with the toppings, just the usual pesto, mozza & tomatoes, or tomato sauce, mozza, peppers & onions.

I make a dough that is 1 part white flour, 1 part whole wheat flour and one part ground oats. It's really chewy and yummy.

    ReplyDelete
  76. My favorite is a garlic sauce with spinach and tomatoes on it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hmmm ... odd? Who knows? My local quilt shop hosts a monthly "UFO Pizza Party" and "Mediteranian Vegetarian" is the pizza of choice (my fav). Broccoli, zuchini, feta cheese, black olives, and sun dried tomatoes. Yum!

(and hooray for bargin bins! I'm just starting to get into embroidery and I'd love to have more inspiration)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Pineapple and cranberry sauce are yummy additions to my pizza! Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  79. 25 cents per spool!? Lucky you!! My favorite topping is not so weird, just plain ol' pineapple makes me happy. I do like to sprinkle some red pepper flakes on it though, makes it sweet with a kick.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Pizza- how about lobster on a pizza- heavenly. We had it on a trip to Iceland and I still dream about that pizza. Thanks for the give away.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I've enjoyed buffalo cheese on my pizza made of gluten-free crust! It's so much fun eating dairy-free/gluten free, so full of adventure!

    ReplyDelete
  82. crazy great giveaway and I love feta cheese on pizza. So yummy

    cathy.erickson1@gmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  83. not sure how strange it is but my fave pizza these days: ham, pesto, shrimp and banana peppers. Yum!

also almond slices added to Hawaiian pizza

    ReplyDelete
  84. I don't like my pizza loaded up... just pepperoni, sausage and sauce... although, a white pizza is really good, too.

    ReplyDelete
  85. oooh! love this! if it is pizza, I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I'm pregnant and all I want on my pizza is ham, bacon, and green olives. I'm hungry now thinking about it!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I don't think our pizza toppings are all that odd, but this is what we usually get: chicken, tomatoes, green olives, mushrooms, and goat cheese. Thank you so much for the lovely giveaway! I've been meaning to try hand quilting for a while, but haven't actually bought any Perle cotton yet, this would be perfect if I was lucky, ha! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  88. You've got me drooling over this gorgeous floss AND the idea of yummy pizza... oh dear. ;) I have a girl here too that turns her nose up at pizza... insanity! She does eat it though if she has a hand in the making, so that's what I try to do.

Now, toppings... I don't know about unusual but my favourite home-made pizza has mushrooms, baby spinach, sun-dried tomato, olives, red onion & pineapple... *drools even more*

    ReplyDelete
  89. To be honest, I have a slice of pizza pretty much every day from a local place. The oddest combination I have had is peaches and blue cheese. Not my favorite, but it was tasty.

    ReplyDelete
  90. mmm... buffalo chicken sounds good! I like my pizza homemade with portobello mushrooms and blue cheeze!

...I see that someone responded that they like canadian Bacon/Pineapple... I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and here, bacon/pineapple is hawaïan pizza!

(How's that for a personnalised answer! lol!)

    ReplyDelete
  91. I don't think of it as odd, but my family thinks I'm crazy. My two daughters and fiance all like those pizzas with a million types of meat on them, and I like Canadian Bacon & Pineapple. They think it's weird to like fruit on pizza, but I think it gives a nice contrast to the meaty/cheesy/bready/tomatoey tastes already there. The pizza isn't as overwhelming as all-meat is to me, and besides, I like pineapple!

Your captions made me laugh. I like your snarky sense of humor - I speak fluent sarcasm :) I too have a picky child, and I totally make her eat whatever we eat, so I guess I'm a mean, mean parent too!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Oh my goodness - that was the buy of the century! Now for pizza...this may sound weird, but I like salad on my pizza. Not in a "look how healthy I am, I eat salad even on my pizza!" but in a "crisp mixed greens bathed in ranch dressing meld wonderfully with cheese and sauce" kind of way!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Anchovies. That's right, anchovies. With mushrooms? Even better. We host a pizza (homemade) party about once a month, and there are at least 5 of us who flip for the fishies. Thanks for the chance at a sweet giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  94. That's a tough question for me. My son's allergic to dairy so our pizza is not so hot (really, without cheese, is it worth it???). But if we did have pizza a lot, I think I'd definitely add anchovies (I know, not too original but nice and salty) and sundried tomotoes

    ReplyDelete
  95. Your find is unbelievable! Way to go! The best pizza- sausage, onion, cheese (lots of cheese) and sweet bbq sauce. MMMMMmmmm-delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Pizza!! That's my favorite food!!1 hurrah! I love chicken, (boring I know!) but its insanely good with pinenuts, chili sauce and peanut butter!

    ReplyDelete
  97. I can't eat gluten or dairy, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying pizza! My wonderful boyfriend makes a great from-scratch gf crust, and we add all sorts of toppings: local sausage, mushrooms in large quantities, homemade sauce, zucchini, and whatever is in the fridge :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'm a basic cheese with extra cheese kind of gal.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I doubt that it is very odd but I love to have artichokes on my pepperoni/mushroom/black olive pizza on the rare occasion I can get them.

Though a good BBQ pizza rocks too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'm afraid I like very traditional toppings on my pizza - ham, pineapple, gr. pepper, onion and mushrooms. Once when vacationing in Cuba, and being a vegetarian, I ordered a pizza with vegetables. To my horror it came with cooked carrots on it. They were disgusting!!
Love your thread, and glad you found it at a 'selvage' shop - is that a thrift shop, or used items shop??
    Thanks for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Have you tried fresh rocket, pear and shaved parmesan! Makes for a great fresh pizza topping! (Although the ones you've rejected sound pretty good!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  102. I do like pizza but it doesn't like me. My favorite is plain old pepperoni. But a canadian ham and pineapple is excellent also.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I love pizza but it doesn't love me so much anymore. But Greek pizza is sooooooo good! Feta cheese, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, eggplant, spinach! OH MY!!! Such good pizza! Thanks for the chance to win!
    Sivje

    ReplyDelete
  104. Oh this is awesome! I love it!
My favorite pizza is a simple BBQ sauce base (not to much) BBq'd chicken, spinach, feta and a bit of asiago...yummers!

    ReplyDelete
  105. I always make homemade pizza and my favourite topping is sour cream spread as sauce, then topped with sliced, cooked potato, cheddar and crisp bacon. Maybe not odd to you, but it was a new idea to me when I heard it!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I love pepperoni, garlic and green olives together - but NO ONE in Seattle (who has a GOOD pizza) offers this as a topping! So I have to make it myself at home. :)

    ReplyDelete
  107. I never met a pizza I didn't like (except a really weird one in Spain). Mangelnsm@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  108. I'm not a huge fan of pizza, but I do eat it every so often. I had some goat cheese pizza once, and just loved...loved it.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I like a whole lot of garlic on my pizza. I'm not sure if that's odd or personal, but it's my thing! Thanks for the great giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I LOVE barbeque chicken on a pizza (truly southern!) Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  111. My faves would be spinach, leeks and mushroom and maybe a free range egg - sorry nothing very unusual. I wonder about a sweet pizza with apple and cinnamon - but maybe that wouldn't count as a pizza...

    ReplyDelete
  112. My kids only eat ham & cheese pizza, one of them even picks off the cheese! Our local pizza joint does a great Peri Peri Chicken but last Sat we ordered Szechuan Tiger Prawn. Yum! Thanks for the cool prize.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Since I normally go for pretty straight-forward toppings:onion, pepperoni, sausage. I will say my weirdest is when I had shrimp pizza in France but I had to make sure that there were no heads on the shrimp.

    lifeinsarahland(at)yahoo(dotcom)

    ReplyDelete
  114. I love homemade pizza! You should try it with spanish cured ham and onion. Simple but delicious! We normally also add some vegetables, whatever we have available at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I loves pizza!! I will pay for extra cheese and I loves all flavor.

Thx for the chance to win :)

P/s: you won't see this comment from other blog.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I like a little bit of everything I can find in my fridge on my pizza! I am not a 'less is more' person when it comes to my pizza! on the other hand my daughter will only have cheese and tomato!

    ReplyDelete
  117. Yummo Pizza! My favorite toppings are pineapple, ham, onion and hot peppers...so, so good!

    ReplyDelete
  118. My favourite pizza topping is tuna, black olives, artichoke hearts, anchovies and capers.
I don't think its unusual but it's hard to get all the toppings from one single pizza place. Great giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I really like mine very mediterranean:
    - anchovies (although it makes you thirsty) with tomato sauce and mozarella
    - goat cheese with red pepper (should be already cooked in the oven or barbeque)
And I sometime add a little pesto sauce or olive oil but not too much.
    Terrific giveaway! Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  120. Canned sardines is the oddest I come to with homemade pizza... I'm rather conservative in my tastes. I rather love fish on my pizza, and don't always have tuna, so sardines it is.

    ReplyDelete
  121. I love extra bacon and pineapple (yes pineapple) on my pizza.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Oh my gosh, your pizza toppings sound amazing! We're very simple pepperoni or ham & pineapple eaters in my house. I love those floss colors - thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  123. Pizza!! So many options: shrimp, feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, pepperoni with pineapple, zucchini....

    ReplyDelete
  124. I don't have anything odd that I like to have on my pizza, but mushrooms are a must!

    mrs.pulido@hotmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  125. Don't know how this would go over with your little one but there is a restaurant near us who does a PB&J pizza. I have a daughter who loves pizza and a son who could care less. I also LOVE my pizzas on the grill, most often with pesto, mozza, maybe a bit of prosciutto. Totally different flavor. I don't know if it's a southern thing or what but several places make a baked potato pizza. Basically baked potato toppings (cheese, bacon, potatoes, green onions). It's very heavy though (I can eat about one slice).

  126. I've been wanting to try these threads! Great giveaway, thank you. I am very, very picky about what I eat on pizza (which I love!). My favorite is canadian bacon, but I also like sausage or hamburger..with cheese and tomato sauce of course...but that's it, I don't eat pizza any other way.. LOL, Merry Christmas.

  127. My husband once had a cottage pie pizze, minced beef with sliced potatoes on top, it was pretty yummy. I always like cougettes or fresh rocket on pizzas

    ReplyDelete

  129. Humm well I love BBQ sauce (instead of tomato) roasted chicken and red onions with mozzarella cheese. But I have had a wonderful alfredo (or creamy white sauce) sauce with boiled potato slices, bacon and green onions, when I was in France 2 summers ago! Super Yummy!

  130. Not to odd, but I love bbq chicken, Gouda, cilantro with bbq sauce for the sauce under the cheese! Now I want to make homemade pizza. Thanks!

  131. I really don't have anything unusual on pizza at all. I can't stand onions, so they're never on it. Hmmm, I like cheese, different cheeses and pepper and sweetcorn and chicken. Wow, how boring am I?

    ReplyDelete
  132. i love bacon and pineapple on my pizza. but probably the most unusual thing is that i don't like tomato sauce. i'd prefer to eat the pizza with just toppings and cheese. white pizza all the way.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Hmm, well I haven't tried it before, but I've seen some cool recipes for pizza with butternut squash and sage -- I think that would be yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  134. My son won't eat pizza either. Altho he won't eat anything with tomato sauce on it. It pretty much has to be plain. My fav is pesto with chicken. I like artichoke hearts too. yum

    ReplyDelete
  135. Well, I like broccoli and chicken pizza a lot, but I don't order it much...it's more a special treat kind of thing. It's even better if you can get it with a white sauce! Mmmm.....now I want pizza! LOL!

  152. Oh... I go for the very simple:

Handmade pizza dough (which really takes it times but one batch can be used for several days if stored in the fridge)... a real tomato sauce, nothing like ketchup or something with enhanced flavours... there are some more expensive ones who are really good if I don't have the nerves to make my own (and most I don't ^^)... then just some goat cheese... after baking adding some rucola and very, very thin cut serano (which would be a shame to bake ^^) and last but not least cherry tomatoes!

Nothing more, but I am addicted! Okay... that is not true... sometimes I change to aubergines and zuchinis!

    ReplyDelete
  153. Well, not sure how odd it is but ricotta cheese tastes terrific on pizza!

Now I know what I will make for dinner tomorrow!

    thanks!

    ReplyDelete

  165. My husband lived in Italy for a couple years, where he befriended a pizza maker (pizzaiolo) who taught him some tips and tricks of the trade. The thing that surprises people the most about our pizza is that for our pizza sauce, we use a can of peeled tomatoes blended (pulse it so the seeds don't burst) with a couple tablespoons of sugar mixed in. Some different pizza combos:
    (1) Whipping creme as a sauce (we've used either canned whipped creme or the whipping creme next to the milk, they're both good) + prosciutto
You could also put on some fruit instead of the prosciutto for a dessert pizza
    (2) Red pizza sauce + fresh mozzarella + prosciutto + a cracked egg

My favorite though is just a classic margherita - red sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil & a little bit of olive oil when it comes out of the oven. Delicious!

    ReplyDelete
  166. Oh yum. All your pizza toppings sound delicious! I need to shop the frozen pizza isle you are shopping. :o) I have been limited to the basics. :o) And we eat pizza every Friday night.
However, in town we have an amazing pizza place and we go there on special occasions. I always order the bacon chicken ranch. Angels sing from the clouds it is soo good. :o)
Thanks so much for your give a way.

  170. We often have pizza night without the pizza. It all started when my Sweetie and my son decided to make appetizers before they served their homemade pizza. They took one ball of pizza dough and made knots, which they baked. While they were baking they melted some butter, and added finely minced garlic and chopped fresh basil and parsley. They also heated up a jar of marinara sauce. When the knots were done, we dipped them in individual tiny bowls of melted garlic butter, and marinara sauce. The knots were SO good that we forgot all about making pizza, and ate knots till we could eat no more.

  171. We have a small homestead and raise our own animals for meat. We make pepperoni from ground lamb meat. I love to make pizza with that, plus green olives and caramelized onions. Drool. My kids like green olives and grilled chicken on theirs. Another odd favorite? Curried grilled rabbit also with, green olives, of course ;) We really like green olives on pizza in our house. Pretty much any leftover meat and veg thrown on dough with sauce and cheese is alright by me!

I'm not very odd as far as pizza. I like the pesto you've grown tired of and enjoy mixing all kinds of cheeses. See...boring...no help at all.

I'm off to look for a little cooking inspiration in the other comments.

    Thanks for the chance!

  181. I don't really eat anything too odd on pizza. I do like bacon on there, but usually just have pepperoni and black olives. Alas, I'm not able to gorge on it like I used to becuz I have to watch my fat intake due to a misbehaving gallbladder. I tried fat free cheese...oh no! The horror. It's like plastic cheese. Yick!

    Cheers,
